FAQs

  • Hemp, also known as industrial hemp, is a versatile plant from the Cannabis sativa species. It has been cultivated for thousands of years for various uses, including as a source of fiber, food, and medicine. Here’s an overview of what hemp is and its many applications:

Fiber:Textiles: Hemp fibers are strong and durable, making them ideal for producing clothing, ropes, and textiles.
Paper: Hemp pulp is used to make high-quality, long-lasting paper products.
Building Materials: Hemp can be used in construction materials such as hempcrete, which is a sustainable building material.
Seeds:Nutrition: Hemp seeds are a rich source of protein, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, and various vitamins and minerals. They are used in foods such as hemp seed oil, hemp milk, and protein powders.
Oils: Hemp seed oil is used in cooking, cosmetics, and skincare products.
Environmental Benefits: Soil Improvement: Hemp is known for its ability to improve soil health through phytoremediation, a process where the plant removes toxins from the soil.
Carbon Sequestration: Hemp absorbs large amounts of CO2 during its growth, making it an effective crop for carbon sequestration.
Low Resource Requirements: Hemp requires minimal pesticides and herbicides and has relatively low water needs compared to other crops.

  • CBD oil is primarily composed of cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant. It may contain small amounts of other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, but these are usually in minimal concentrations. Some CBD oils are isolates, meaning they contain only pure CBD without any other compounds.

Full spectrum hemp oil contains a wide range of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other beneficial compounds found in the hemp plant. It includes CBD but also contains other cannabinoids like THC (in trace amounts, typically less than 0.3%), CBG, CBN, and others. Additionally Terpenes and Flavonoids are compounds contribute to the aroma, flavour, and potential therapeutic benefits of the oil.

  • Full spectrum hemp refers to hemp extracts that contain the complete range of naturally occurring compounds found in the hemp plant. This includes not only cannabidiol (CBD) but also other cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and essential fatty acids. These compounds work together synergistically to enhance the therapeutic benefits of the hemp extract, a phenomenon known as the "entourage effect."

Key Components of Full Spectrum Hemp
Cannabinoids: CBD (Cannabidiol): The primary non-psychoactive cannabinoid known for its potential therapeutic benefits, including pain relief, anxiety reduction, and anti-inflammatory properties.
THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol): In full spectrum hemp, THC is present in very low concentrations (less than 0.3%), which is not enough to produce psychoactive effects but may contribute to the entourage effect.
Other Cannabinoids: Includes minor cannabinoids such as CBG (cannabigerol), CBC (cannabichromene), and CBN (cannabinol), each with their own potential health benefits.
Terpenes: Terpenes are responsible for the aroma and flavor of the hemp plant. They also have therapeutic properties and contribute to the entourage effect.
Common Terpenes: Myrcene, limonene, pinene, linalool, and beta-caryophyllene are examples of terpenes found in full spectrum hemp.
Flavonoids: Flavonoids are phytonutrients that have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties. They contribute to the overall health benefits of full spectrum hemp.
Essential Fatty Acids: Omega-3 and Omega-6: Full spectrum hemp contains essential fatty acids, which are important for overall health, particularly for heart and brain health.
    Benefits of Full Spectrum Hemp
Entourage Effect/Synergistic Interaction: The combination of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids enhances the overall therapeutic effects compared to isolated CBD. This synergy is believed to increase the effectiveness of the extract.
Broad Therapeutic Potential/Holistic Approach: Full spectrum hemp is often used for a variety of conditions, including chronic pain, anxiety, inflammation, epilepsy, and sleep disorders, due to its comprehensive range of bioactive compounds.
    Natural and Minimally Processed:

Less Refined: Full spectrum extracts are less processed compared to CBD isolates, retaining more of the natural compounds from the hemp plant.
Full spectrum hemp offers a holistic and synergistic approach to utilizing the hemp plant’s natural compounds for potential health benefits. By containing a wide range of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and essential fatty acids, full spectrum hemp provides a comprehensive option for those seeking the therapeutic effects of hemp in its most natural form.

  • We have an industrial Hemp license and grow within the guidelines of the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI). Our Full Spectrum Whole Plant Hemp Oils are tested by Southern Cross University and the DPI.

How best to use our products depend on the laws of your residing country. In countries like the USA, Canada, and UK where Hemp oil is allowed for internal use, many people will use the extract orally. However, in countries like Australia, Hemp extract oil is not intended for internal use, but instead can be used topically (for example, rubbed into the skin).

  • CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of over 100 naturally occurring compounds known as cannabinoids found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it does not produce the "high" typically associated with marijuana use. CBD has gained significant attention for its potential therapeutic benefits and is used in a variety of health and wellness products.

  • HC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the primary psychoactive compound found in the Cannabis sativa plant. It is responsible for the "high" associated with marijuana use. THC interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system, particularly the CB1 receptors in the brain, to produce various effects. Hemp and Honey does NOT grow or manufacture any high THC content varieties.

  • Hemp seed oil and full spectrum hemp oil are two distinct products derived from the hemp plant, but they have different compositions, uses, and benefits. Here’s a detailed comparison:
